Hasbro Recalls Trolls Dolls Over Complaints Of Grooming Children For Abuse
Toy company Hasbro has pulled their Trolls dolls from shelves after complaints flooded the internet, calling them out for grooming children for abuse. Outraged parents took to social media and created a Change.org petition, with over 180,000 signatures, after slamming a doll based on the movie ‘Trolls,’ claiming toy’s push button between its legs promotes pedophilia.
In a video by one parent, she demonstrates that at the push of the button, the doll giggles and laughs, with gasping noises. On the petition site, verbiage reads, “Our society is conditioning our children to think pedophilia is ok. This Trolls World Tour doll named Poppy has a button on her private area under her skirt. When you push this button on the doll’s private she gasps and giggles. This is not okay for a child’s toy!”

Responding, Hasbro spokeswoman Julie Duffy says, “This feature was designed to react when the doll was seated, but we recognize the placement of the sensor may be perceived as inappropriate. This was not intentional and we are happy to provide consumers with a replacement Poppy doll of similar value through our consumer care team. We are in the process of removing the item for purchase.” Following the complaints, the company said it would replace the toy.
