US Marshals Auctioning Off Seized Fyre Festival Merchandise For Victims
In attempt to support victims whose pockets were drained and never refunded, US Marshals have seized Fyre Festival merchandise and are auctioning off everything; which includes t-shirts, jogger sweat pants, hoodies, souvenir tokens, and more.
In 2017, Billy McFarland was set to host this grand festival taking place on the Bahamian island of Great Exuma. Instead, thousands of ticketholders arrived to a lackluster beach with cheese sandwiches and a mini salad for dinner. After the incredible fail, McFarland was sentenced for fraud, and is currently serving a six-year sentence in an Ohio federal prison.

To assist those who were burdened, US Marshal Ralph Sozio of the Southern District of New York says, “This Fyre Festival-branded clothing and other items that were seized from Billy McFarland were originally intended to be sold at the Fyre Festival itself but were kept by McFarland, with the intent to sell the items and use the funds to commit further criminal acts while he was on pre-trial release. The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland’s $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes.”
The auction will carry a limited number of items, about 126, and will be held by vendor Gaston & Sheehan. Items are currently open for bidding and registration, which is scheduled to end on August 13. Check out the auction here.
