95 NFL Players Tested Positive For COVID-19, Hundreds More Expected

Since the league began administering tests over the past four months, it’s reported that at least 95 NFL players have tested positive for COVID-19, and hundreds more are expected.

On its official website, the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) revealed their findings of 95 positive tests, but added a disclaimer that the number of positives tests does not reflect that of players who are currently battling the virus.

Additionally, since the pandemic began, it’s been reported that players like Andrew Whitworth, Von Miller and Ezekiel Elliott had contracted the virus, including others. While these players have more than likely since recovered and are testing negative, the league continues to brace themselves, as they ramp up testing, expecting more than 2,000 positive cases.

Also in their update, the website noted that all 32 teams have submitted Infectious Disease Emergency Response plans, with 8 already approved by the NFLPA. The plans are needing approval before more than 20 players can access team facilities.
