Atlanta Teen Charged In Connection With Fatal Shooting Of 8-Year-Old Secoriea Turner

An Atlanta teen has been charged and arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 8-year-old Secoriea Turner, who was murdered on July 4 outside the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed by a cop.

Atlanta Police Department officials have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Julian Conley, who turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued. Conley has been charged with aggravated assault and felony murder.

Furthermore, Conley’s attorney, Jackie Patterson, maintains his client’s innocence, claiming he was armed with a gun, but was not the shooter. Patterson adds, “My client was out peacefully protesting the death of Rayshard Brooks. He witnessed the whole thing but did not fire on that vehicle.” He also believes that the police arrested and charged his client in retaliation of him refusing to cooperate.

Additionally, Conley is expected to have his first court appearance this morning, with a bond hearing following in two to four weeks.
