Harvey Weinstein Victims Set To Receive Portion Of $19 M Settlement
Many of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged victims will be receiving part of a $19 million settlement.
According to Page Six, the settlement is part of a deal made by the New York state attorney general’s office in its lawsuit against The Weinstein Company.
Former employees of the production company who “experienced a hostile work environment, sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination” are eligible to receive parts of the fund. The suit is still waiting for approval.

The attorney general notes that there was clear evidence of on-the-record complaints to the company’s human resources department that were ignored in regards to the sexual abuse.
For decades, assistants working for Weinstein “were exposed to and required to facilitate” sexual favors “as a condition of employment.”
“Harvey Weinstein and The Weinstein Company failed their female employees,”Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement. “After all the harassment, threats, and discrimination, these survivors are finally receiving some justice.”
As we reported, the disgraced mogul was sentenced to 23 years in prison after a Manhattan jury found him guilty of sex crimes. He has since pleaded to be out on house arrest due to the Coronavirus.
