According to CBS 46, former Officers Ivory Streeter and Mark Gardner reportedly filed the suit on June 8, claiming their use of force was lawful, and they were fired without a proper investigation, the lawsuit states. “Petitioners have suffered irreparable injury to their personal and professional reputations as a result of their unlawful dismissal,” the suit states.

As we previously reported, on May 30, Taniyah Pilgrim, 20, and Messiah Young, 22, were near downtown Atlanta where a protest was going on when they were confronted by the group of police officers. They were tased and dragged
and said they felt as though they were going to die.

The next day, Bottoms announced the officers had been fired. Shortly after, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced criminal charges against Streeter, Gardner, and four other officers involved.

So far, neither APD nor Bottoms have publicly commented on this latest lawsuit.
