UPDATE: Dave East Issued Summonses After NYPD Traffic Stop

Just minutes ago we shared a video of rapper Dave East getting cuffed by police in New York. At the time details on the incident were not exactly clear, but NBC News, just shared the latest update.

The news site reports that East was pulled over by the NYPD early Friday morning. The 31-year-old rapper, whose real name is David Brewster, was in the backseat of an SUV that failed to signal a turn near the Queensbridge Houses, according to police. From there, officers said the driver was compliant and didn’t receive any tickets but East and another passenger “became combative after they were asked to show their identifications.”

Police say they then discovered over half a dozen bags of marijuana inside the car. Officers eventually took East back to the 114th police station where they issued him and the other passenger two summons for criminal possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

East took to social media later this Friday morning to shut down claims he was arrested for not social distancing. Check out the clip below.
