85 Infants Test Positive For Coronavirus In Texas County

85 infants have tested positive for COVID-19 in a single Texas county as thousands of cases continue to rise throughout the United States.

According to NBC News, public health director of Nueces County Annette Rodriguez reported data that revealed 85 infants under the age of 1  have tested positive for the coronavirus. She has urged the public to wear their masks and practice social distancing to prevent further spread of the virus.

“We currently have 85 babies under the age of one year in Nueces County that has all tested positive for Covid-19. These babies have not even had their first birthdays yet,” director  “Please help us to stop the spread of this disease. Stay socially distanced from others; stay protected. Wear a mask when in public and for everyone else please do your best to stay home.”

Corpus Christi city manager Peter Zanoni said in a statement that Nueces County currently has the faster number of growing cases.

“You can see the trend line is relatively flat until July, and this is where we have had that huge spike in cases, and this is why it’s turned into a major problem for Nueces County,”

As of today, the United States set a single-day record with more than 75,780 reported cases of the virus and the current death toll is more than 140,000.
