76-Year-Old COVID Positive Woman In India Wakes Up Minutes Before Cremation

Shakuntala Gaikwad, a 76-year-old woman in Baramati, India who was COVID positive and believed to have died from the virus, woke up just minutes before her own cremation.

It’s reported that days after testing positive for coronavirus, Gaikwad’s condition deteriorated due to old age, which then led her family to move her to a local hospital on May 10. However, upon their arrival, they were unable to secure a bed for the woman and as they waited in the car, the woman fell unconscious and stopped moving — leaving the family to believe she had died.
