75-Year-Old Becomes Fitness Influencer After Losing 68 Lbs & Weightlifting

Age really is nothing but a number and one 75-year-old is living her best life by becoming a fitness influencer after dropping 68 lbs and taking on weight lifting!

Joan MacDonald, of Ontario, Canada, turned her life around after she weighed 198 lbs. and was on medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and acid reflux.

“I was really huffing and puffing climbing up and down the stairs,” MacDonald said to MSNBC. “My daughter got really, really concerned. She thought that if she wanted me around, she’d better intervene.”

Her daughter urged her to join a fitness program to get her in better health.

“When Michelle gave me that ultimatum to do something about my life, I figured it’s now or never,” Joan said toGood Morning America. “I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. It was existing, not living.”

“It was tough in the beginning,” she added, “People don’t realize that [my mom] was there in the trenches, trying to figure it all out and getting frustrated.”

After five years, she was 68 lbs down and able to bench press at least 80lbs, and the best part, she is off all of the medication!

Looks like we need to put down our pizza and hit the weights!
