72-Year-Old Black Woman Found Hanging From Tree In Annapolis

An elderly black woman was found hanging from a tree in Annapolis, Maryland on November 4th. The Annapolis Police department also disclosed the victim’s identity is being withheld pending assurance that the extended family has been informed.

Police located the body around 7:30 am. When authorities arrived they instantly took down the body because it was near a bus stop that attends to the students at Mills-Parole Elementary School and Annapolis Middle School.

Several students saw the woman’s body while going to school. Richard Rogers and Casey Hunt, principals at Mills-Parole Elementary and Annapolis Middle School wrote a letter out to parents speaking on the situation.

“While walking to the bus stop this morning, some students may have witnessed a tragic scene involving the death of an adult individual.”

Anne Arundel County public school officials provoked counselors at Mills-Parole Elementary, Annapolis Middle School, and Annapolis High School to communicate with students who were affected by the scene and oversee their well-being. Additional counselors responded to schools that only have one.

Detectives are investigating this incident. This is an active investigation.
