Wow! In a shocking update it is being reported that the 6-year-old boy who shot Virginia teacher Abby Zwerner in the chest admitted to it. New documents claim after the shooting the boy said, “I shot that b***h dead. I did it.”
As we previously shared back in January, 25-year-old Abby Zwerner was shot by her 6-year-old student, using his mother’s gun. It was reported that the teacher had voiced concerns about the student before the shooting, but the school, Richneck Elementary, ignored her. Shortly after the shooting, the assistant principal, who was informed, resigned.
Following the incident, we also heard from the family of the 6-year-old student, who spoke out and said, “Our heart goes out to our son’s teacher.” It was then learned that the 6-year-old would not be facing any criminal charges in the shooting. Instead, his mother, Deja Taylor, turned herself in and was charged.
She is facing felony child neglect, and a misdemeanor for recklessly leaving a loaded firearm where a child could access it. On August 15, she is expected to plead guilty to those charges. Previously, she plead guilty to lying on a federal form about her marijuana use when she purchased the gun used in the shooting.

Following the mother’s arrest, she claimed that her son is a “great kid,” but also suffers with ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder). As mentioned, Zwerner claimed the student had a history of violence and was known to attack his classmates and other teachers.
In Zwerner’s $40 million lawsuit, against the Newport News School Board, she shared instances to support. She also later revealed that because of filing her lawsuit and refusing to drop it, she was fired from the school. Additionally, the school district previously told Zwerner that she should only get worker’s compensation for her injuries sustained from the shooting.

In the latest update in this story, it is now being learned that the 6-year-old student who shot his Virginia teacher in the chest allegedly admitted to it. New documents uncovered in court revealed the disturbing details. A reading specialist who was in the classroom on the day of the incident said they restrained the boy after the shooting.
The specialist then told police that the child admitted to getting his mother’s gun the night before and shooting Zwerner. The specialist claimed the boy said, “I did it. I shot the b***h dead. I got my mom’s gun last night.”
