55-Year-Old Man Robbed Of $20K At Gunpoint After Wild Car Chase In Manhattan
New York Police Department officials say the incident occurred sometime before 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 3) when a black Mercedes-Benz (presumed to be a $120,000 S-Class coupe) came charging down a block, chasing a silver Toyota Rav4, which was carrying $20,000 in cash.
The two cars eventually made it onto Second Avenue near 91st Street on the Upper East Side. As they played out a dramatic scene, like something you would see out of a movie like ‘Fast & Furious,’ the two cars each screeched their tires as the Mercedes continuously rammed into the fleeing Toyota.
In the initial parts of the viral footage, the Mercedes is scene pulling a pit maneuver, like the one you would see a police car pull on a fleeing suspect. When the Toyota driver got their bearings and tried to pull away, they were eventually pushed by the Mercedes onto the sidewalk; and then shoved back down the block before the Mercedes was able pull another quick maneuver on Toyota, and this time t-bone the small SUV.

After being rammed into several times and now having been t-boned, the Toyota was now stuck and the driver, a 55-year-old man, tried to exit his damaged vehicle and flee the scene. But as he tries to escape, a man is seen exiting the passenger side door of the Mercedes with a weapon.
In the viral footage, witnesses and bystanders repeatedly screamed out, “He’s got a gun. He’s got a gun.” Soon after, the man is seen banging on the passenger side window of the Toyota. When that doesn’t work, the suspect then circles to the driver’s side and at gunpoint, he snatches a black bag, full of $20,000 in cash, from the 55-year-old man driving the Toyota.
With the money in hand, the suspect is seen running back to the passenger side of the Mercedes coupe and hopping in before the driver speeds off, having just completed a wild heist in Manhattan, in broad daylight.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported; however, the suspect and his driver still remain at large. New York Police Department officials have since launched an investigation.
They said that the armed robbers ditched their banged-up Mercedes-Benz several blocks away from the scene of the crime. NYPD officials also believe that the suspects in the Mercedes and the victim who was robbed in the Toyota most likely knew each other.
