In an interview on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ 50 Cent talked about his decision to remain a single man and why he’s opted to remain celibate as well.
During the conversation with Stephen Colbert, 50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, doubled down on really being celibate. Colbert pulled up 50’s cover of Us Weekly magazine, which asked on the bottom of the page, “Is he really celibate?!” Colbert said, “I like this and I’ve got a follow-up question. 50 Cent, are you really celibate?”
50 got serious and said, “Listen, when you calm down, you can focus. It’s been good. I’ve been good to me.” Colbert replied, “Ok. But, what’s the money for if you’re celibate? You know there are a couple of motivating factors in our evolutionary biology and they don’t include celibacy!”
50 fired back, “That’s when things start getting complicated. Things start getting confusing because people are coming for different reasons. And then if you, like, go on a date but you have no interest in anything… I can see you now. It’s like, ‘Godd*mn, girl. You’re fine, but you ain’t got nothing going on.”

Trying to understand, Colbert then asked, “Oh, so the intoxication of a romantic desire clouds your ability to perceive a person?” 50 Cent proudly admitted, “Absolutely, dusty. Most men. Most of us.” Colbert continued to ask the rapper, “Have you been married?” 50 replied, “No. I’m safe. I’m not a happy hostage. I’m here, man. I’m free.” Before letting out an infectious laugh, 50 Cent continued to joke, “I’ve made some mistakes, just not that one!”
50 Cent’s latest comments on “practicing abstinence” and “being good” to himself arrive 8 months after first making the decision to go celibate. In early January, 50 Cent took to his Instagram and told his followers the big news.
While promoting his champagne and cognac brands Le Chemin Du Roi and Branson Cognac, he captioned his post, “My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted I’m practicing abstinence. I have been meditating and focusing on my goals. I hope this New Year helps you excel to the next level.”
