5-Year-Old Girl Injured In Britt Reid Crash Likely Has Permanent Brain Damage, Lawyer Seeking ‘Most Serious Charges’
It’s being reported that Ariel Young, the 5-year-old girl who was injured in the Britt Reid DUI car crash, will likely have permanent brain damage. And now, the lawyer for the Young family is seeking the “most serious charges” against the ex Kansas City Chiefs linebackers coach.
As we previously reported, Young was critically injured in a car crash last month, just one day before Super Bowl LV. Reid was driving drunk at the time of the crash, which left Young in a coma with a bleeding and swollen brain. Tom Porto, the lawyer for the girl and her family, updates, “[Ariel is] awake, which is a huge development. She likely has permanent brain damage that she will endure for the rest of her life. She’s not walking – it’s a sad, sad, sad story”

As for justice, Porto affirms, “We’re going to be advocating for the most serious charges and the most serious sentence that Britt could ever receive. We don’t have the toxicology back, I don’t know what it is going to be. What I do know are the statements that he made to police that night. If you have two or three drinks, and then you get behind the wheel of a car, you are likely over the legal limit.” Reid still has yet to comment on the crash.
