43-Year-Old Maine Man Dresses As Buddy The Elf To Meet His Biological Dad
Doug Henning, a 43-year-old Maine man, has gone viral as he dresses as “Buddy The Elf,” aka Will Ferrell‘s character from the movie ‘Elf,’ to meet his biological dad for the first time.
The first ever face-to-face meeting between father and son recently went down at Boston’s Logan Airport. Speaking with Boston.com, Henning explains his outfit choice, using it as a way to break the ice and making the moment memorable for both men. In addition to the costume, Henning couple it with the awkward song Ferrell sings to James Caan in the 2003 film.

Besides the creative get-up and idea of it all, the crazy part of the concept was when Henning learned that his father had never even seen the film, but he was still very happy to meet his son. It’s reported that Henning grew up with his “amazing” adoptive parents. Recently, he met his cousins through Ancestry.com, who put him in touch with his father, who was unaware of his son, but soon met over Zoom. The two then decided to meet in person for Thanksgiving.
