3 Men Facing Federal Gun Charges As Trump’s ‘Operation Legend’ Launches In Chicago

As gun violence in Chicago continues to surge, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has finally, yet begrudgingly, accepted the help of the President. As of Friday, three men are now facing federal gun charges as Donald Trump‘s “Operation Legend” initiative launches in the city.

On Thursday, Lightfoot and Trump agreed to send in federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF); the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA); and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to control the city’s crime. The initiative was named after 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who killed in ongoing violence in Kansas City, Missouri last month.

Darryl Collins, 30, of Dolton, is charged with one count of illegal possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Romeo Holloway, 21, is charged with illegal possession of a firearm by felon. And Darryl Phillips 22, is charged with illegal possession of a machine gun, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.”
