29 States Report Spike In Coronavirus Cases As Government Prepares For Second Wave

On Sunday, a White House adviser revealed that the Trump administration is preparing for a potential second wave of the Coronavirus as 29 states report a large spike in cases since reopening the economy.

As of now there are over 2,270,000 cases and 118,000 deaths in the United States. Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and Missouri reported their largest single-day case increases on Sunday, and Florida passed 100,000 total cases, and Los Angeles and other parts of California continue to see increasing numbers.

“We are filling the stockpile in anticipation of a possible problem in the fall. We are doing everything we can beneath the surface, working as hard as we possibly can,’’ said White House trade adviser Peter Navarro to CNN. “You prepare—you prepare for what can possibly happen. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but of course you prepare.’’

“We don’t necessarily expect a second wave but prudence dictates that we plan for it. There is no contradiction.”
