260 Employees In Georgia School District Have Tested Positive For COVID-19
As schools across the country continue with their reopening plans, at least 260 employees at a Georgia school district have either tested positive for COVID-19 or been exposed to it.
Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, just one day after beginning pre-planning procedures at 141 different facilities throughout the county, Gwinnett County Public School, the largest district in the state, has reported an estimated 260 employees “had been excluded from work due to a positive case or contact with a case.”

Gwinnett County spokesperson Sloan Roach claims most of the cases stem from “community spread, meaning we have people who have called in to report who have not been at school or work.” As of Sunday, Gwinnett County reported 17,781 positive cases, 1,996 hospitalizations and 240 deaths.
Roach continues, “Given the number of COVID cases in Gwinnett, we would expect to see positives among our employees based on the community spread in our county.”
