Whoopi Goldberg Suspended At ‘The View’ Over Holocaust Comments
ABC News suspended “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks on Tuesday night, one day after she received backlash stating that the Holocaust was “not about race.”
“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said in a statement.

“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments,” Godwin added. “The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”
As we previously reported, Whoopi Goldberg was trending on Twitter because of her statement on ABC’s “The View” this Monday when she argued that the Holocaust was “not about race.”
“The Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race,” Goldberg, explained repeatedly. “It’s about man’s inhumanity to man.”
Other “The View” co-hosts were quick to disagree with her statement. “Well, it’s about white supremacy. That’s what it’s about,” political strategist Ana Navarro chimed in to say. “It’s about going after Jews and gypsies.”
“But these are two groups of white people,” replied Goldberg. “You’re missing the point. The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let’s talk about it for what it is. It’s how people treat each other. It’s a problem. It doesn’t matter if you’re Black or white because Black, white, Jews, Italians, everybody eats each other.”
