One of four men charged in the killing of Pop Smoke during a robbery at a Hollywood Hills mansion pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter.

The 20-year-old man, who was 17 at the time of the killing, also pleaded guilty in Inglewood juvenile court to home invasion robbery. He was sentenced to four years and two months in a juvenile facility. The judge has rejected the public use of his name because he was a minor at the time of the shooting.

As we previously reported, Pop Smoke was tragically killed on February 19, 2020, at the age of 20. According to reports, several individuals broke into the Hollywood Hills home where Pop Smoke was staying and fatally shot him. The motive for the shooting is not entirely clear, but some reports suggest it may have been a targeted hit related to his rising fame and success in the music industry.

Following his death Pop Smoke’s album sales and music went sky rocket and folks all over the industry showed how much they supported the young rapper.

Unfortunately back on September 11th, 2021 Pop Smoke’s gravesite was vandalized on a early Saturday morning at Brooklyn’s Greenwood Cemetary where it appeared the suspects tried to pull his casket out. The suspects visited the mausoleum where Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was laid to rest and apparently smashed the marble plaque covering his coffin. According to TMZ, drag marks were also seen in the photos where it was apparent that the vandals tried to remove the casket from the tomb after removing the slab that divided his coffin from the one above it.

It was unclear if his casket was damaged or removed from the mausoleum but the witness has warned security about the incident. Hours later, they came back and said the rapper’s plaque was replaced with a blank slab with caution tape around the site.
