Heartbreaking news coming out of England: Two innocent children have lost their lives following a horrific knife attack in Southport.
The incident occurred at an event that was a Taylor Swift-themed dance and yoga event for children aged about 6 to 11. Officers were called around noon with reports of the deadly attack, and have since confirmed that there is no continued threat to the public. Sadly, nine other children were injured, six of them critically. Two adults were also in critical conditions.
A 17-year-old man has since arrested in connection to a devastating mass stabbing.
A full statement from Merseyside Police read: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday 29 July. At around 11.50am, we were called to a property on Hart Street to reports of a stabbing. There are a number of reported casualties and more details will be confirmed when possible. Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station. Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident. There is no wider threat to the public.”
