According to TMZ, Brown’s suspension will be in effect as soon as he signs with a new team and he will also continue his counseling, the league reported. In a statement, they said he was “notified today by NFL Special Counsel for Conduct Todd Jones that he has been suspended without pay for the first eight regular-season games of the 2020 season for multiple violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. As part of the discipline, Brown was directed to continue his program of counseling and treatment, and that he is expected fully to cooperate with his clinicians.”

Antonio Brown has been under investigation by the NFL for almost a year after his former personal trainer, Britney Taylor, filed a lawsuit claiming she was raped by the wide receiver on three different occasions.

After the announcement, Brown has accepted his suspension and did not file an appeal. NFL officials also looked into his assault case in January when he was arrested for assaulting a truck driver outside of his Florida home. In 2017, he allegedly sent harmful text messages to a Pittsburgh woman who painted murals in his home and accused him of sexual misconduct.
