According to the Chicago Tribune, the man, who was also wearing a yellow face mask, entered the grocery store at about 4 pm on Sunday. The guy who was with a friend began spraying what turned out to be Lysol disinfectant spray on produce, clothing, and health and beauty items — causing about $10,000 in damages, cops said.
A spokesman for the Joliet Police Department said customers eventually confronted the goons who later took off in a white 2003 GMC, according to the news site. Police are now searching for the pair who are said to be in their 20s.
As of right now, no one was believed to have been exposed to the deadly new coronavirus, which had infected 12 people in the US as of Monday and has killed at least 425 people, mainly in China.
