#Socialites, come get into this. Label boss, 1501 Certified Ent. CEO Carl Crawford is putting his beef with Megan Thee Stallion to rest as he’s finally admitting to making “mistakes” while also promising to stop mentioning her name in the public!
As we previously reported, the Houston rapper and former MLB player fell out when Megan signed a management deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation, apparently without 1501 knowing she made such a move. Meg later filed a lawsuit against the label claiming they had been blocking her from releasing music and also refused to renegotiate her contract. In February 2022, Meg filed another lawsuit against 1501 asking a judge to declare that her 2021 project Something For Thee Hotties is considered an album and should go toward fulfilling her contract. However, the label countersued with Crawford claiming her project was a “mixtape” and also labeled it complete “bullsh*t.”
In late December, Meg scored an early win in her case as a Texas judge declined the record label’s request to claim the 2021 project Something for Thee Hotties did not count as an album in the rapper’s contract terms. Now, they’re headed to trial. While we wait for that, Crawford is now sharing what he learned from that experience and what he plans not to do moving forward. He told TMZ, “Me and Megan, we haven’t talked since 2019,” he told the outlet. “We’ve been going through, I guess, what you guys see online and it’s unfortunate because I never wanted to have a situation where I was, you know, going back and forth with her on the internet.”
He continued, “I never had any problems with Megan Thee Stallion. It’s just the social media stuff, it turned really, really sour. You take this social media part out of it, we don’t have a problem. I’m done with that.” Crawford went on to say, “You not gonna hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name in the media unless I’m doing something like this. You not gonna see me texting or making a post or any of that stuff that would cause social media to go crazy.”
More On Carl Crawford And Megan Thee Stallion Beef
Things heated back up in April after Mr. Crawford shared a video of himself and Tory Lanez hanging out at a club. As many know, Tory and Meg had been going through an intense legal battle at the time over their shooting case, which Meg ultimately won later on.
Tory Lanez was found guilty on all charges in the case where Meg claimed he shot her following a verbal argument that started at a party with Kylie Jenner. As a result of that, Tory was immediately arrested and is still in custody awaiting sentencing.
After watching how that all played out, Crawford said, “I don’t stand with nobody in that situation,” he explained. “That’s none of my business. You get caught up in the internet stuff and doing stuff just to — I don’t know if we can just use the word petty, ’cause there’s been a lot of petty stuff going on. “I normally don’t do stuff like that. I think I just got wrapped up in the whole scheme of things that was going on. We all make mistakes. I’m not on nobody’s side with that. I was just — I don’t even know.”
What He’s Taking Out Of This Experience
“Just call it, I don’t know, competitive nature,” he explained. “Playing sports, you’re used to people yelling at you and you go back and forth, so I kinda got caught up in that game a little bit which I probably shouldn’t have done because I’m in a different game now, and I can’t just treat it as a fan yelling at me and I get to yell back.”
