15-Year-Old Coco Gauff Defeats Venus Williams Again In Stunning Australian Open Debut
Coco Gauff snags another win! The fifteen-year-old tennis star defeated the seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams 7-6 (7/5), 6-3 at the Australian Open.

It was Gauff’s second straight win over the 39-year-old since her first-ever match in the main draw of a major in the first round of Wimbledon in July. Speaking to reporters at a news conference following her victory, Gauff said,
“My mission is to be the greatest.” She added, “That’s my goal, to win as many Grand Slams as possible. But for today, my mission was to win.”
Meanwhile, Williams was full of praise for her opponent after the match. She told reporters “the sky’s the limit for” Gauff. “She clearly wants it, works very hard, is extremely mature for her age,” said Williams.
