Nabila Maazouz was found dead in the Hillsboro Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center pool, under the cover she had been helping replace after practice ended.

The family has filed a $70 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city, school district and the company that creates the pool covers.

The lawsuit also touches on how the Hillsboro School District was negligent for allowing the pool covers to be used and allowing swimmers to swim under them. The lawsuit also says, there was no supervision during those times nor a lifeguard on duty.
