Texas Shooter Salvador Romas, Reportedly Shot His Grandmother Before Mass Shooting At Elementary School
What was supposed to be a normal school day for elementary kids in Texas turned into a complete nightmare. A gunman stormed into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde this morning and shot several people including students and staff.
Sadly, fourteen kids and one teacher were killed. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed the heartbreaking update at a news confrence following the incident. He also identified the gunman as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. Abbott explained that police believe Ramos acted as a lone wolf shooter in the incident. It is believed he was armed with a handgun and a rifle. Initial details on the suspect were not immediately available, however, officials say Ramos is apparently from the town of Uvalde, which is 85 miles west of San Antonio.

It was said that Romas reportedly also shot his grandmother before he carried out the horrific attack. At this time, her condition is currently unknown. Abbott also confirmed that Ramos was shot in a stand-off with Texas officials responding to calls of an active shooter at the elementary school. He is also deceased.
What Else Do We Know About Salvador Ramos?
According to the Daily Mail, Ramos’ social media was full of photos of guns. It was said that he even messaged a girl he knew on Instagram, tagging her in a photo of the guns. “I got lil secret. I wanna tell you,” one message said. “Be grateful I tagged you,” he wrote to which she replied, “No it’s just scary,” adding: “I barely know you and you tag me in a picture with guns?”
Abbott released the statement on twitter saying, in part, “Texans across the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless crime and for the community of Uvalde. Cecilia and I mourn this horrific loss and we urge all Texans to come together to show our unwavering support to all who are suffering.”
White House Press Secretary confirmed in a tweet that President Biden is aware of today’s horrific events. She said,
“President Biden has been briefed on the horrific news of the elementary school shooting in Texas and will continue to be briefed regularly as information becomes available.” She added, “His prayers are with the families impacted by this awful event, and he will speak this evening when he arrives back at the White House.”
Joe Biden, who is flying home from Japan, will address the nation from the Roosevelt Room of the White House at 8:15pm tonight. The flags above the White House are flying at half staff.
