Authorities in Arizona say a 13-year-old girl is facing DUI charges after crashing a stolen vehicle while driving intoxicated with an 11-year-old in the passenger seat early Tuesday morning.
According to ABC News, the incident happened on Interstate 40 near Flagstaff when the girl went the wrong way across the median, self-corrected, and then sped off at over 100 mph. She eventually struck a guardrail, causing the car to roll over several times before crashing into a tree. Both children were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

DUI Findings
Investigators reported that the teen’s blood alcohol concentration measured 0.183—over twice the legal limit for adults. In Arizona, drivers under 21 must have a BAC of 0.00, making her charges even more severe. Authorities said the steering wheel broke off during the crash and was ejected nearly 50 feet from the wreckage.
The Flagstaff Police Department confirmed the girl will face DUI charges. It’s unclear at this time how the children obtained the stolen vehicle or where they were headed. Officials have not released the identity of either minor due to their ages.
The Danger Of Underage DUI
Authorities said the case highlights the dangers of underage drinking and reckless driving. With speeds exceeding 100 mph and both children hospitalized, police say the outcome could have been fatal.
