12-Year-Old New Jersey Boy OD’ed On Fentanyl After Being Forced To Clean Uncle’s Drug Lab
A 12-year-old boy’s life was sadly cut short all because of an irresponsible family member who allegedly forced him to clean his home drug lab, according to Camden County prosecutors.
The young boy was found unresponsive on his school bus in Gloucester Township, authorities said. He died on Feb. 1, eight days after the discovery. An autopsy determined that the boy died of a fentanyl overdose.

Following an investigation, Troy Nokes, 35, was eventually busted on Thursday and hit with 28 charges in connection to the Feb. 1 death of his nephew. Some of the charges included manslaughter, employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme, and endangering the welfare of a child. Prosecutors said the weekend before the child’s overdose, Troy allegedly manufactured the potent opioid and then told the boy to clean drug paraphernalia containing fentanyl without gloves. Now, Troy isn’t the only one being held responsible for the boy’s death. The New York Post reports that a woman named Joanna Johnson was also charged for tampering with evidence and protecting the alleged killer from police.
Both Nokes and Johnson were arrested by the United States Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force (RFTF). They are currently detained at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
An investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
