11-Year-Old Boy Shot And Killed While Watching Fireworks In Southeast DC
Following the news of the 8-year-old boy who was killed while shopping with his family at an Alabama Mall on Friday, another innocent little boy has lost his life due to gun violence.

According to a report by Fox 5 News, an 11-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday night while watching fireworks in Southeast DC. It was said that the shooting took place in the 1400 block of Cedar Street after 9:30 p.m. when a group of about five men was “shooting up in the area,” Police Chief Peter Newsham said. The boy, who has been identified as Davon McNeal, was struck during the shooting and taken to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead after arrival.
Following the tragic incident, Mayor Muriel Bowser released a statement via Twitter saying, “A mother lost her 11-year-old son to gunfire tonight. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family,” adding, “We need your help to find those responsible for his murder. There are no suspects at this time as detectives begin investigating the crime scene, Fox News reports. However, In a tweet, police asked the public to share any helpful information.
