1 Dead, 11 Wounded In Overnight Shooting Spree In Minneapolis
Authorities say twelve people have been shot, one fatally, in an overnight shooting spree in the 2900 block of Hennepin Avenue South in Uptown Minneapolis — which is in and around the area where the George Floyd protests took place.
In a press release, the Minneapolis Police Department state, “Police arrived and located several people suffering from gunshot wounds. Multiple ambulances responded and transported victims to Hennepin County Medical Center. Others were transported to area hospitals in private vehicles.”
While authorities have yet to identify any suspects and any motives, they confirmed shell casings proved to be from three different types of weapons, and don’t believe the melee had anything to do with the murder of George Floyd. They also confirmed that all victims were adults; noting the one fatality was a male, and the other 11 victims both male and female, all expected to survive. An investigation is on-going.
