Bill Gates Reportedly Transferred $1.8B In Stock To Melinda On Day Of Divorce News

It looks like Bill Gates and his estranged wife Melinda made two big moves on Monday.

As we previously reported earlier this week, the couple announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. However, TMZ reports that the same day, the Microsoft co-founder who is worth an estimated $130 billion, transferred $1.8 billion in stock to his wife from his investment firm!

The news site reports that his firm, Cascade Investment LLC, sent Melinda more than 14 million shares of Canadian National Railway Co. and more than 2.9 million shares of AutoNation Inc, according to docs obtained by TMZ. Based on Wednesday’s stock prices, the shares are worth north of $1.8 billion.
